Carson Cooman's CD "Enchanted Tracings" reviewed in the American Record guide
A review of the Carson Cooman's ARTEK release "Enchanted Tracings" in the July/August 2008 issue of American Record Guide.
I was quite impressed by the music of Carson Cooman (b 1982) two years ago, when he
was a 25-year-old graduate student (March/April 2007). Now I am more than
impressed—enthralled is more like it. How to describe Cooman’s style? Solidly rooted in
tonality yet harmonically free, his works spin out seemingly endless tapestries of
beautiful melodies and ideas. When you think he is a certain kind of composer, the next
piece says he is something else...
