Two works by Jacques Leguerney published by Musik Fabrik

Musik Fabrik is pleased to announce two new publications of works by the French composer Jacques Leguerney : Poèmes by Jean Moréas for voice and piano and Sonate pour piano et flûte for flute and piano.

Poèmes de Jean Moréas pour voix et piano (Poems of Jean Moréas for voice and piano) by Jacques Leguerney were composed in 1943. Their first public performance was by French soprano Ginette Guillamat and pianist Thérèse Cochet at the Salle Chopin-Pleyel in Paris on 22 February 1944. The three songs are :

I. L'éclair illuminait le ciel .

II. Je songe

III. Il est doux d'écouter

The Sonata for Piano and Flute (Sonate pour piano et flûte) was composed in 1926-1927 for Claude Desanges, a school mate of the composer. The only known performance was an informal one at the Parisian apartment of Leguerney’s parents. Leguerney’s mentor and dear friend, Thérèse Cahen, accompanied Desanges.  The three movements are:

I. Andantino spirituoso

II. Pas trop lent

III. Vif

Les Poèmes de Jean Moréas pour voix et piano on été composés en 1943.  Leur création fut  assurée par la soprane française Ginette Guillamat et la pianiste Thérèse Cochet à la Salle Chopin-Pleyel à Paris le 22 févrie r 1944. Les trois mélodies sont :

1. L'éclair illuminait le ciel . . .

2. Je songe . . .

3. Il est doux d'écouter .

 La Sonate pour piano et flûte a été  composée en 1926-1927 à l’intention de Claude Desanges, un camarade de classe du compositeur.  La seule exécution connue de cette pièce était un concert informel  dans l’appartement parisien des parents de Leguerney   Thérèse Cahen, menteur et grande amie du compositeur, accompagnait Desanges.. .Les trois mouvements sont :

I. Andantino spirituoso

II. Pas trop lent

III. Vif
