Carson Cooman's new Oratorio "The Acts of the Apostles"

Carson Cooman's new Oratorio The Acts of the Apostles was recently premièred at the Memorial Chapel of Harvard University by John Salvi, baritone, Harvard University Choir, Brattle Street Chamber Players, Edward Elwyn Jones, conductor, Cambridge, Massachusetts. A recording of this concert may be heard at Instant Encore .

The work, which is scored for Baritone soloist, SATB Chorus, Congregation/Audience (singing chorale tunes), and Chamber Orchestra (pno.org/strings) is 45 minutes long. The texts were adapted from biblical sources by Matthew F. Burt.

The work will be published shortly by Musik Fabrik. Full score and vocal score for sale; orchestral materials for rental.

The Harvard University Choir and the Brattle Street Chamber Players present the world premiere of The Acts of the Apostles, a new oratorio by composer in residence Carson Cooman with a libretto adapted from the Bible by Matthew Burt. Starting with the first Pentecost, the work vividly tells the dramatic stories of the early Christian apostles in solos, choruses, and congregational hymns.
